This guided meditation script for self is only the first step. If you truly want to finally move away from self-loathing and dive deep into self-love, then you need to learn how to unleash the magic that is you.
A major part of self-care is cultivating the right mindset – the awareness that you are worthy and deserving of love.
That’s not always easy so I always recommend following or reciting an unconditional love meditation script as often as possible.
I don’t know about you but I sometimes find it so difficult to remember that I’m actually doing quite well, that life may be difficult but boy, is it fun and that sometimes it takes a while to set things in place before I can get what I want.
In times like these, I turn to Lisa Nichols‘ Discovering Your Worthiness Meditation – the best guided meditation script for self-love that I’ve ever heard and which also contains self-approval affirmations that will surely lift you up.
If you’re going through a rough patch or you just need to be reminded that you are worthy, then don’t hesitate. Listen to this audio as often as you can.
You don’t even have to close your eyes and stop what you’re doing (though if you do, then the impact is a lot stronger), you can just let this play in the background.
The effect, in my personal experience, is the same.

When should I listen to a self love meditation?
Obviously, the answer to this question will vary depending on a number of different factors.
Do you currently question your own self-worth?
Have you always been looking after yourself so just need a quick pick me up?
Are you trying to recover from a lifetime of emotional abuse and really need to know how to take care of number one?
These would all change the answer to this question.
That said, I personally think that we all need to listen to a self love meditation as often as possible.
And when you can make the time, several times a day.
This is honestly one of those meditation tracks that you can use without stopping whatever you’re doing.
Obviously, a more focused session, where you’re lying down or sitting down on your own, honing in on your breath whilst your mind soaks up the messages given by Lisa Nichols in this meditation would be ideal.
And if you can do that every day, then even better.
My experience as a full-time mom and entrepreneur, however, is that I can rarely make the time to do so. In fact, I barely have five minutes to shower before I’m out of the bathroom and hustling hard.
What I do instead is to have this track on repeat the entire day.
I let my subconscious soak up the message and when I find myself focusing on the words too much, deliberately divert it so that my sometimes overly critical mind can’t dissect the message and refuse it outright.
I’ve done focused meditation using this exact self love meditation.
And I’ve done the subliminal-type of meditation using the same meditation script.
In my experience, they work synergistically.
As Jim Rohn said, “Just try it for 90 days. Just try it.“
Eventually, you can find out how best to make this work for you.
You don’t have to do exactly what I’m doing but I have to tell you that, as long as you listen to it with an open mind, it’s life-changing.
Enjoy!
Guided meditation script for self love
So often we question our self-worth and we measure our life based on our past. We measure our future based on what’s happened to us.
Am I worthy?
Can I have that kind of love? Can I have that kind of success? Can I have that kind of wealth and abundance?
Me? Little old me?
Yes, you can.
Everyone is inherently worthy of value.
Nothing that you do or that happens in life can qualify your greatness.
It’s your birthright to feel free and to express yourself joyfully.
You have a right to be happy. You have a right to feel love. You have a right to have mad passionate love for, not only yourself but for others.
So often, we begin to wonder, “Is it for me? Can I have it? Am I worth it?”
You know, I understand that your self-worth will determine your altitude. If you believe you can go there then you can. If you believe you can’t then you won’t.
So, how about we take some time. Pour into you. And reprogramme or uplevel the programming that you have so that you understand that you are worthy of every single blessing that’s on its way to you.
That you don’t have to worry about getting ready for what’s around the corner. You’re already there.
Set the next few minutes to be free. Free from any distractions, any concerns, anything about the world around you. This moment is about you.
Be in a relaxing place.
Whether it’s sitting or lying down, make yourself very comfortable. Nothing else matters right now but your own personal breakthrough, your own gift to self.
You can close your eyes if you haven’t done so already.
Bring all of your awareness to the position of your body.
Feel your body. Relax in your body.
Feel your breath. And feel the present feelings of relaxation that is spreading through your mind and your muscles, from your head to your toes.
Enjoy the feeling of lightness. Enjoy the feeling that may accompany your breathing.
Take a deeper breath.
Go in and out rhythmically.
Find your comfort zone.
Gently moving into the place within you, allowing the worries of the world around you to fall away, to fall off the left side of your body and off the right side of your body.
Your whole energy is you, vibrating and slowing into a beautiful state of comfort.
Imagine you are protected. Feel this positive energy through your entire body. And all the learning that takes place will take place with ease and grace.
Release any negative thoughts about past decisions, past experiences, past concerns or past disruptions.
In this moment, acknowledge yourself just as you are. In this moment, you are authentic with yourself and with others. You rewrite your story. You rewrite it the way you choose for it to be told.
You don’t have to erase chapter one, two, three, four through fourteen. It’s absolutely okay the way it’s written. But you get to write your future.
I’m going to count down from 5 to 1 and as I count down, your breathing begins to deepen. Your body begins to relax. All outside noise and chatter begins to dissolve.
Five. Breathe deeply, feeling peace in your core.
Four. Breathing out, trusting the feelings of inner worthiness. Accepting yourself fully, knowing what you’ve always known.
Three. Deep breath. Feel your body. Know your worth. You’ve always been valuable. You’ve always been special.
Two. Breathe out and replace past thoughts with new possibility. Breathe out and replace old fears with new decisions. New decisions about the life that you are creating in this moment.
One. You are at complete peace. You are available to new creation. You’re sitting in your power.
You’re lying in your strength. You’re bathed in new possibility, resting in your greater awareness.
I love and bless the past. I love, bless and release the past.
I move with mindful intention.
I learn from all of my experiences.
My lessons prepare me for my breathtaking future.
I have needed every experience to prepare me for this moment.
I’ve needed every experience to prepare me for this moment.
There’s no need to apologise for my past choices. I’ve made the best choices I could based on what I knew.
I live in possibility.
Shame, blame, guilt, regret or anger have no power over me.
They don’t have the right to live in my body.
I evict shame, blame, guilt, regret and anger.
I say good-bye right now.
I am my own best friend.
I will speak on my behalf. I will love me first. I will be the first example of what it looks like to love me.
I declare what I need and I give myself what I need.
I have everything I need to live a joyful and abundant life within me.
There is nothing, there is nothing, there is nothing I need to feel whole and complete that lives outside of me. Everything, everything, everything I need to feel whole and complete is inside of me.
I am enough. I’ve always been enough.
Every decision I have made was the best decision in that moment based on what I knew.
My decisions have either brought me great experiences or great lessons. And I’ve needed them both.
My decisions have either brought me great experiences or great lessons. And I’ve needed them both.
I bless my lessons.
I bless my lessons learned through my family. I bless understanding why and who they are. And that I am enough regardless of what’s happened. I bless my lessons learned through my relationships.
As I mature, as I grow, as I have more compassion for myself and forgiveness for myself, my relationships will evolve as well.
I bless my lessons learned through the difficult moments of my life.
I bless my lessons learned through my financial challenges, understanding as I learn more and grow more and become more financially committed to my future that my finances will transform.
It is because of those lessons that I have determination.
It is because of the lessons with my family that I have determination, the lessons in my relationships that I have resiliency, the lessons through my difficult moments that I have forgiveness.
The lessons.
It is because of these lessons that I’m ready for my next blessing. It is because of these lessons that I am ready for my next blessing.
I recognise now that the experiences that I used to tell myself I wasn’t worthy are the very experiences that have made me more prepared.
I’e realised that everything in my life is fuel, everything in my life is fertiliser – helping to grow and birth my breathtaking future.
I get it now.
I was always designed to win. I was always designed to win.
The victory is mine and the outcome is already brilliant.
It’s my job to enjoy the journey. It’s my job to celebrate my micro-wins to get me to my macro-wins. The small simple things.
Taking a deep breath right now…and being in this beautiful moment with myself and acknowledging, I am enough. I’ve always been enough. And every experience that I’ve ever had needed to happen to make me the person. And every experience that I’ve had – as painful, as challenging and as unfair as they may have seemed, they needed to occur to make me strong, to make me forgiving, to facilitate the greatness, the perseverance and the tenacity in my soul.
And I am here. I am here, whole and complete.
There’s not just a piece of me present – the whole me is here.
I am still here. I am still standing.
I am a powerful being of possibility and today I declare, unapologetically, that I’m stepping into my greatness. I’m allowing my light to shine. No longer will I be a 79 watt light. From today forward, it will shine a 159 watts.
Today, I stand in my greatness. I own my champion. I recognise my genius. And I embrace my brilliance.
No longer will I dim my light so that others won’t feel insecure in my presence. No longer will I dim my light to make sure I’m acceptable. No longer will I dim my light for fear of other people’s perception of me.
Today, I embrace, I get, I get who I am. And I own who I am. And I realise that dimming my light does not serve the planet.
That it’s when I allow my light to shine brightly that I will illuminate the darkness that someone else may be sitting in.
That when I allow my light to shine brightly that in that expression of self-love, someone else gets to experience the contagious being called me.
That when I give myself permission to let my shine brightly, that someone watching will do the same.
The way I’ve been liberated to this moment, it’s my job, my responsibility and my pleasure to liberate someone else in their moment.
So today, in this moment, in this meditation, I declare my greatness.
I no longer shrink to fit in the small crevices of the world. I stand boldly and open the double doors. We are such a champion. I am such a champion. Sometimes, my champion frightens even me but today, I own it.
I own it. I own it.
I’m ready for such a time as this. I’ve been ready for a long time.
I just needed to stop and take a breath and breathe in my readiness and exhale my doubt, my worry, my fears.
I now acknowledge out loud that I’m ready. I now acknowledge out loud that I’ve been ready for a very long time.
I say to myself and to the universe, “I choose to run and take that leap.”
I realise now that I don’t have to wait until I’m perfect, that it’s in my imperfection that I’m perfect for this assignment.
Oh, I breathe that truth in and I exhale any lie that I’ve told myself prior to this moment. I breathe in the truth I know that my future has nothing but breathtaking, life-changing beautiful experiences in it. And I exhale the doubt and worry that when something comes up, I won’t be able to handle it.
I. Am. Ready.
I breathe in the love and the joy that I deserve.
I’ve always deserved it. And I exhale the doubt and the worry that they won’t accept me as I am.
They love me as I am.
It’s in my quirks and my idiosyncrasies that make me human. I sit here still.
But the joy of arriving back to me and opening my arms to me and saying, “Welcome home. I’ve missed you.”
Now, let’s go out and introduce ourselves to the world. We are ready and we are worthy and we have always deserved it.
Take a deep breath. And feel your body.
Feel your heartbeat. Feel your breathing. Feel your hands and your fingertips and the tingle of aliveness. Feel the back of your chair or your bed.
Feel your extremities begin to move your body slowly stretching into your new possibility. Feel your greatness moving through your body via your breath. Feel your aliveness and the brightness of your future as you slowly open your eyes.
Feel the movement in your cheeks as you open up a smile to yourself.
Look at your hands – the hands of a genius.
Begin to touch your knees and to touch your body and feel the solidarity, feel the power and strength that awaits your future.
Introduce yourself not to the soldier that’s made it to today but to the general.
Take a deep breath.
Breathe in your new possibility and opportunity and exhale anything that might get in your way.
Again.
Exhale.
Begin to rub your hands together slowly. Begin to feel the friction of aliveness. Begin to speed up a little more.
Feel your aliveness and energy. And begin to give yourself small claps, small claps, small claps.
And slowly come to a sitting up position if you’re not already there. Keep clapping.
And then bring yourself to a stand. Keep clapping.
Bring yourself to a stand. Keep clapping.
Strengthen your clap. Strengthen your clap. Standing straight and tall. Keep clapping.
And now, you should be standing. Welcome to your first standing ovation.
Go. Transform the planet.
And as your sister friend, I’ll be there cheering you all along the way.
I love you.
Final thoughts on this guided meditation for self love
What do you think? This is one of my favourite meditations and Lisa Nichols one of my favourite speakers. There’s something about the way she speaks and the words she uses that speaks to me.

Dear Jade,
It’s a spiritual and inspirational post. I can understand your point that you have focused on. I read the steps which you have mentioned in your post. Your article taught me why and how to love myself. I’m grateful to you for teaching me to love myself. Everyone must live for oneself. I’m sure, if anyone reads your post he/she would want to love himself/herself.
Thank you for your excellent post.
Kevin & Jade
Thanks for your lovely comment. We appreciate it and we’re happy to know that you found it helpful. 🙂

This is something that I am still working on with every day – that I deserve to be loved. I always put others first, that might come from how I grew up. I had to take care of my little brother and sisters and it is a habit that is hard to break. I have just transitioned to a new job which is direct marketing and boy, that was tough. People are just mean and from that it brings me down. Thank you for the video you shared and very detailed information to practice my self love meditation. I am worth it. 🙂
Jade
Hi Nuttanee,
We’re not surprised. We’re told very early on that it’s better to give than to receive BUT what can you give, if you have nothing? You need to do both and you need to focus on yourself. Not because you’re selfish but because you’re worthy.
Direct marketing is tough because the stigma is so strong. I’m sending you a lot of virtual hugs. It’s not easy at all.
Simple for Beginner?
What a great read, everyone should read through the article and practice self love. In my experience I realized that self love is the most important in life, as how can you love someone else if you do not love yourself. Thank you for a fantastic article and I will follow the meditation scripts as they are fantastic.
Kevin & Jade
Thank you for sharing. We find this invaluable in our journey and highly recommend that everyone listen to it at least once a week. 🙂

I didn‘t get a chance to read it all and try each step but have bookmarked this to come back to it – I could already feel myself breathing slower and sitting up straighter as I read.
Kevin & Jade
Hi Rachael, that’s great. Let us know what you think once you try listening to it again.

My daughter’s school had year-end mass this week and the priest said “Jesus is love and how do you love Jesus? You love Jesus by loving yourself and those around you!” I never would have thought of loving myself to find my spiritual side before hearing him speak these words. I want to focus more on truly loving who I am and I think meditation will really help me to love myself better. Thank you for this great post to help relieve some of my negative self-thoughts and release some of this tension.
Kevin & Jade
Hi Jenn, thank you for sharing. I don’t know about you but when I was growing up, I was made to feel that loving myself is selfish. It must be how the Bible was interpreted in my part of the world. It’s taken a long time for me to realise that I can’t love others unless I love myself too. This meditation has been a great starting point for me. I hope it helps you too. Let me know how you get on. 🙂
