I used to work on a cruise ship, travelling on my own to exotic lands and meeting new people. I loved it.
It was one of the things that I was afraid I’d miss if I decide to settle down, get married, have a child. Now that I’ve done all three, I realise that actually, no one is stopping me from continuing to travel – no one but myself. I eventually took a leaf out of Nike’s brand book, and just “did it”. So I got my son a passport and went off on adventure after family adventure.
At the time of this writing, I am sitting with my baby voyager in my parents’ living room in the Philippines – spending winter in a warm, sunny place surrounded by people I have loved all my life. And I think, life couldn’t possibly get any better than this.
The posts in the Blissful Travel category will show you how we travel together as a family, with all the paraphernalia you have to take when you travel with a child. We’ll show you how we manage with limited baggage allowance and even more limited pairs of hands to transport said baggage.
Take heart and join us! Allow yourself to be inspired by the beautiful planet we live in. Remember, that it is possible to take flight and still see the world, even when you’ve already put down strong roots.
See you out there!
